Testimonials
To put it simply, Murray and Sweeney just love Corey and Wyatt.
Although Murray was the canine client for Corey’s Canine Good Citizen training, Sweeney was happy to wag along while his little brother went through his paces. Corey is amazingly patient with both the canine and the human, and we all enjoyed Murray’s almost always graceful growth and development. Corey then stayed with us as a volunteer with the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation as Murray successfully moved through the training for certification as a therapy dog. And I know Corey as a volunteer with the Scituate Animal Shelter as well.
To say that Corey knows, loves, and respects our animals is only to begin describing how much this trainer shapes and changes the lives of both the humans and the animals in her care. I have sent friends with dogs to Corey confident that the people and their dogs will be in good hands. I recommend Corey Steinberg whole-heartedly and without reservation.
She’s calm, gentle, nonjudgmental and extremely knowledgeable.
Corey is a godsend! Corey was recommended for her expertise, compassion, and effective training methods. Her love for dogs was apparent the first time we met.
Not only did she train our Goldendoodle Brewster, but she trained me on best practices so we could reach our goals together. Dog training can be stressful, but Corey makes it fun. If you're looking for a professional and enjoyable dog trainer look no further, Corey is all you need!
When we adopted Buddy, we went into it thinking we were getting a 10 year old dog that wouldn’t need much training. Instead, we got a scared old pup that had no idea how to be a dog.
We knew we had to start from scratch and build his confidence from the ground up. That’s when we found Corey, and what a blessing she ended up being. Buddy is a big boy, people tend to shy away from him because of it, but Corey fell in love with him instantly. And vice versa. Buddy trusted Corey immediately, it was an amazing sight to see considering everything Buddy has been through.
She’s not only good at training your dog, she’s good at training the people too! I never even realized how important it is to train the owners along with the dog. She’s incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, and it’s obvious that all she wants is to bring you and your dog closer together with training. She taught us everything in such a way that made it fun for both us and our dog. Seeing Buddy’s confidence grow every day as we continue to use her training is a gift that I can’t thank her for enough!
Along with her many years of experience, Corey has a great passion and gift for Therapy Dog work.
She has a way with dogs of all breeds and sizes and looks for the individual potential in each of them to do this kind of work.
We got our bernedoodle Lucy at ten weeks old at the end of 2020, and it didn’t take us long to realize that we had a truly special dog in our family.
Deciding we should share her special and gentle personality with the world, we went to Corey for classes that would prepare her to earn her certificate in Canine Good Citizenship, with an eventual goal of becoming a therapy dog. It was clear from our first meeting with Corey that she is a “dog person” - the joy she takes in dogs of all varieties is evident in her ability to form an instant connection with both dog and owner. Corey’s instruction to the dog student - as well as instructions to owner for command reinforcement at home - is clear, concise and and effective. She manages to remain positive in both her praise and her corrections when Lucy doesn’t follow instructions exactly - never are raised voices or harsh words used in teaching techniques.
Corey quickly formed a great relationship with Lucy, who I believe learned the commands quickly not only because of Corey’s effective instruction, but because doing so pleased her friend Corey! Corey became a friend outside of the classroom as well, and I was fortunate to share some lunch and a joint walk/“field” training sessions with Corey and her dog Wyatt. Our Lucy graduated training with Corey an even sweeter, calmer and more obedient and responsive dog and I am 100% comfortable with her behavior around children, elderly, the infirm - anyone! Corey is the best!
