Children & Dogs- Dog Safety Workshop for Children
Raising kids and dogs demands substantial effort and dedication. Whether your kids run with outstretched arms toward every dog they see or shy away from anything on four legs, they should know how to interact respectfully with animals. All pets—no matter how sweet they appear—need to be treated gently and with kindness. Plus, there is an important lesson to be learned: Even the cutest, tiniest, fluffy pup can be unpredictable or bite when startled or frightened. Education is the key to preventing bad interactions between dogs and children. During this workshop, your children (aged 8 and up) will learn how to read dog body language and how to act safely around both their own dog and strange dogs. Children are empowered to be "dog detectives" and learn to "speak dog" in a simple but effective way if ever they feel threatened or uncomfortable with a dog.
