Testimonials

Working with Corey felt like a true partnership where we were both fully invested in Hugo becoming a happy, well-behaved, and beloved member of my family and also my school community.
Corey and I began our work together before my eight-week-old puppy even joined our family. Knowing that he was intended to become a school comfort dog, Corey was thoughtful and deliberate with every aspect of Hugo’s training to ensure that he had the skills and temperament necessary for such important work. Equally as valuable, Corey worked with me to make sure I also understood how to be both the best handler and dog mom possible. She was always available to answer my questions, target areas of training that bubbled up, and build my confidence when puppy antics felt like toddler misbehaviors on overdrive. Her approach is firm, loving, and consistent (both with dogs and people!) which contributes to her successful outcomes.

She knows all the tricks that make humans and dogs click.
I volunteer at the Scituate Animal Shelter, where Corey works, and I have known her for about two years. When I started helping out there, I had not had a dog for many years and was pretty rusty handling them, walking them, putting them at ease, etc. Corey, who has a lot of experience training dogs, took me under her wing and trained me! As time went on, she coached me on building bonds with some very challenging dogs and it has helped tremendously. When we got our dog, Finley, a year ago, Corey gave me great advice on how to have a “balanced” home with a puppy - how to give dogs what they need, train them, etc, and not go nuts doing it! Whenever I stumbled training Finley, Corey offered great advice and set us back on course. I give Corey the highest recommendation as a trainer of both dogs and dog owners. She’s the best!

She’s calm, gentle, nonjudgmental and extremely knowledgeable.
Corey is a godsend! Corey was recommended for her expertise, compassion, and effective training methods. Her love for dogs was apparent the first time we met. Not only did she train our Goldendoodle Brewster, but she trained me on best practices so we could reach our goals together. Dog training can be stressful, but Corey makes it fun. If you're looking for a professional and enjoyable dog trainer look no further, Corey is all you need!

To put it simply, Murray and Sweeney just love Corey and Wyatt.
Although Murray was the canine client for Corey’s Canine Good Citizen training, Sweeney was happy to wag along while his little brother went through his paces. Corey is amazingly patient with both the canine and the human, and we all enjoyed Murray’s almost always graceful growth and development. Corey then stayed with us as a volunteer with the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation as Murray successfully moved through the training for certification as a therapy dog. And I know Corey as a volunteer with the Scituate Animal Shelter as well. To say that Corey knows, loves, and respects our animals is only to begin describing how much this trainer shapes and changes the lives of both the humans and the animals in her care. I have sent friends with dogs to Corey confident that the people and their dogs will be in good hands. I recommend Corey Steinberg whole-heartedly and without reservation.

What is great is she meets the dogs and owners where they are.
Working with Corey is so accessible. She worked with my Labrador Bonnie to help us get through the AKC Good Citizen test and become a certified therapy dog team. She is always strength based which makes it feel so judgement free. She was able to use Bonnie's strengths to support her on things she struggled with. I cannot recommend Corey enough, I know my dog loves her and she is so easy to work with.
